Families are sent a packet of literature that includes the school brochure, a listing of the staff, and relevant tuition information. An invitation to visit the Center is issued as part of this preliminary contact.

Parents visit the Center while classes are in session. We request that prospective students do NOT accompany their families at this time since we have an obligation not to disturb the students currently enrolled.

A pre-enrollment meeting with the child and parent(s) is required. Such visits are generally scheduled before or after school or, on rare occasions, on an evening or weekend. The visit enables the Center to assess the basic compatibility of the student with the program.

The application process is complete when a signed application and registration forms are submitted with the annual registration fee. Enrollment is finalized when a signed tuition agreement and appropriate tuition payment have been received at the office. At this time, parents are also required to state that they have reviewed the MCN Family Handbook and concur with school policies and procedures.

Completed authorization and emergency information forms, as well as a current medical examination form with necessary immunizations, are required before a child may be admitted into the classroom.

The Montessori Center of Nyack does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, or disability in the administration of its admission policies and educational or other school-related programs.
