DHARANI
G. NARASIMHAN
came to
the Montessori Center of Nyack in 2001. She is a graduate of Bangalore
University and an AMI certified Montessori teacher. While she was in
India, Dharani owned and managed her own school. Her mother and sister
are also trained Montessori teachers, so her familiarity with the
philosophy extends beyond her immediate formal experience. Dharani just
completed a combined Masters in regular and special education at the
College of New Rochelle and is awaiting her permanent NYS teaching
certification. She brings patience, dedication, and creativity to her
position of directress. |

PATTY
RICHARDS
joins us mid-day as a directress in the afternoon session Montessori
classroom and as lead teacher for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten
program. Patty has an extensive background in all aspects of visual and
performing arts, including design, illustration, dance, voice, and
acting. Her experience as a musical comedy performer and as the mother
of three grown children helps her survive in nearly all situations!
Patty is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and Marymount College,
where she majored in studio art. She has worked extensively with
preschoolers years and is certified by the Center for Montessori Teacher
Education. |

SUSAN
HANS
works in the UPP morning program, teaches Spanish, and supervises the
children at lunch. Susan spent three years studying psychology at Penn
State before opting for a career with preschoolers. She obtained her
Montessori certification through the Center for Montessori Teacher
Education and spent a decade working at the Montessori Center of Nyack
before taking maternity leave following the birth of her daughter
Madelyn. We are happy to have her back!
|
BEATRIX STEFAN
received her degree in early childhood and elementary education in her
native Hungary, where she was the head teacher in a
preschool/kindergarten class before coming to the United States. Beatrix
is currently on maternity leave, but we expect she will be return to the
UPP shortly. |

IRENE
NATHANSON
works as an assistant in our UPP classroom and helps our students at
lunch. Irene recently completed her Child Development Associate
credential (CDA) at Rockland Community College. She hopes to continue
her studies in education at RCC, but with a son in law school and a
daughter in college, she has to be patient! Irene also works in our
Universal Pre-Kindergarten program with teachers Dharani and Patty.
